Frequently Asked Questions About Life Coaching…

Q: What are the benefits of coaching?

Coaching moves you forward on a clear path to unleash the purpose and dreams God has placed in your heart. Coaching helps make your journey more efficient, saving you time and money in the long run. The coaching process can help you identify and overcome obstacles.

Here are some examples of what a coach can provide:

  • Unconditional support and consistent encouragement
  • An advocate who challenges you to reach for the stars and brings out the very best in you
  • Practical techniques for redefining priorities, reinforcing control of your schedule and leading a healthy, balanced life
  • The insight and perspective needed to take on the negative voices that hold you back
  • An environment of acceptance where you can brainstorm, strategize, and envision your ideal future without inhibitions
  • Goal-setting and action-planning formats to convert your dreams into realities

Q: What does a typical coaching appointment look like?

On the first appointment, the life coach will explain the process of life coaching along with the relationship and roles you will both have. Your life coach will listen to your reasons for pursuing coaching and will explore the goals you wish to accomplish. Then your life coach will guide you through the process of clarifying where God is leading and of developing a plan for the journey.

During your subsequent appointments, you will choose what you want to accomplish in those sessions. You set your own goals and actions—in other words, you are always in charge. Each appointment will focus on your progress and any adjustments needed or new courses to be set.

Q: How long does the process take?

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. The number of sessions depends on whether you choose to pursue coaching to reach an immediate goal, or life coaching to move toward a better life.  Pursuing an immediate goal can take 4 to 8 sessions, depending on the scope of the goal you choose.

Moving forward (getting unstuck, discovering your unique design and destiny, etc.) can take 12 to 15 sessions, with 13 the average.  This process will involve two important steps – understanding your identity and purpose.

Q: How much will this cost?

As a non-profit organization, CFT has no set fees* for coaching, mentoring, and counseling services. However, CFT does depend on the financial donations received from clients and others to operate. Therefore, clients are encouraged to participate financially with a suggested donation of $125 per hour. The Bible states in I Corinthians 9:11 that “if we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we should reap material things from you?”

*There is a Spiritual Gift and Personality Assessment that costs $18 and an optional assessment called “Strengthsfinder” for $18 that may be necessary.

Q: Do you have a sliding scale?

Yes. The Bible says in II Corinthians 9 that a donation is acceptable according to what a man or woman has, not according to what he or she does not have. Therefore, no one will be refused coaching because of their inability to make a donation. If needed, the financial policy will be discussed further during the first session.

Q: Does CFT offer coaching for both men and women?

No. Because of staffing limitations we only offer life coaching for men at this time.

Q: What if I have to cancel my coaching appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your coaching appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance for us to make that time slot available to someone else.
